On September 9, World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day, ChargeHub highlights how collaboration and partnerships are transforming public charging across North America. Through our EV Roaming Hub, more than 25 networks are now connected, with over 300 connections between networks. This enables millions of EV drivers to enjoy a more straightforward and seamless charging experience. Today, this collaboration provides access to over 142,000 charging ports, representing around 52% of total public charging coverage.

Broad Coverage Through EV Roaming

Passport Hub connects different public charging networks across North America, allowing EV drivers to locate, start, and pay for sessions from a single app. More than just a connector, Passport Hub is a platform that brings together operators, automakers, manufacturers, and infrastructure managers, increasing station visibility and usage.

Cassie Layton, VP of Strategy and Marketing at EV Connect, says: “Roaming isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore; it’s essential infrastructure for EV adoption.” Mike Battaglia, CEO of Blink, agrees: “We understand the value of EV roaming in enhancing the driver experience and supporting customers’ growth. Teaming up with ChargeHub allows us to improve this experience across the US and Canada, providing broader access to the Blink network as well as a wide range of other charging solutions, all while offering the most advanced roaming capabilities.”

For fleets, roaming delivers even greater value. Instead of managing multiple apps, cards, and invoices, Passport Hub consolidates charging into one relationship, one system, and one integration.

Jeremy Dewey, Manager of EV Operations at Holman, explains: “With roaming, our drivers don’t need to juggle multiple apps or cards, and our team doesn’t have to reconcile dozens of invoices. Passport Hub keeps our vehicles on the road and our operations simple.”

By connecting all stakeholders, Passport Hub creates an ecosystem where charging an EV is simple, intuitive and reliable.

Simpler, Faster, Smarter Charging for Drivers

Public charging works best when it’s intuitive and frictionless, with no hidden fees and a single account that supports multiple networks.

Shaun Stewart, President of ChargeLab, highlights the impact of roaming: “The fact that all of our customers are automatically connected to ChargeHub’s network at no additional cost is a game-changer. It reflects our commitment to removing barriers and making EV charging as convenient as possible.”

For Red E, the focus has always been on simplicity and visibility. CEO Abass El-Hage explains: “We are excited to be working with ChargeHub and make our network even more visible and accessible to drivers. Our goal from day one has been to be the easiest network to use, and this new partnership is just one more step in the right direction.”

By combining automatic connectivity and eliminating charging barriers, EV drivers enjoy the best possible charging experience.

Reliable Networks

Accessibility and visibility aren’t enough; EV drivers need reliable networks. ChargeHub helps operators stay connected to users and act quickly when needed. Real-time data and community feedback provide a clear view of station performance, enabling issues to be anticipated and resolved efficiently. ChargeHub’s Charging Experience Barometer is a unique North American benchmark, providing operators with precise, comparable metrics on performance across the U.S. and Canada from the driver’s perspective.

This approach helped BC Hydro earn a 2024 Excellence Award for outstanding commitment to network reliability and customers’ charging experiences. With a dedicated EV Operations team and ChargeHub’s engagement platform, BC Hydro can respond quickly, while users benefit from detailed station information ahead of time. Aaran Ferguson, Senior Manager of EV Customer Strategy, Programs and

Operationsat BC Hydro, notes: “We get the driver’s perspective at a site level and can communicate updates proactively. We plan to build on this approach next year for even better customer engagement.”

Collaboration to Accelerate Adoption

The EV transition relies on shared vision and close collaboration. ChargeHub works with network operators, automakers, associations, and regulators to turn invisible infrastructure into a tangible and usable system.

Quebec’s Electric Circuit is a leading example. As France Lampron, former Head of Electric Mobility, explains: “By mandating ChargeHub to manage all interoperability connections, we can concentrate on deploying and operating stations while delivering the best customer experience.”

ChargeHub also actively participates in industry groups, including the EV Roaming Foundation, EV Charging Association, Electric Mobility Canada, and Agora. The company also attends events such as CharIN Testival (Michigan, May 2025) and MOVE to share best practices and promote EV roaming.

The ChargeHub Lab complements these efforts with end-to-end testing, from activation to payment reconciliation, ensuring a smooth, reliable experience for every driver.

By combining innovation and collaboration, ChargeHub is making public charging more accessible, robust, and scalable, accelerating mass EV adoption across North America.

Collaboration and EV Roaming Driving Electric Mobility

On World EV Day, ChargeHub emphasizes that the EV transition depends on strategic collaboration and cooperation. By connecting networks, operators, automakers, and participating in industry associations, we turn public EV charging into a reliable, connected, interoperable, and scalable system, optimizing driver experiences and creating new business opportunities.
