Canada has 48 national parks managed by Parks Canada, spread across every province and territory. These parks protect a wide range of landscapes, mountains, boreal forests, tundra, coastlines, grasslands, and even Arctic deserts.

Mauricie National Park (Quebec)

Where to charge

There are no EV chargers inside the park, but nearby towns like Grand-Piles, Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, and Saint-Jean-des-Piles offer several options, including charging stations in Shawinigan, just a short drive away.

Forillon National Park (Gaspésie, Quebec)

The landscape

Located at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, Forillon offers cliffside trails, kayaking, beaches, and historic sites. It’s also a top spot for whale, seal, and seabird watching. Don’t miss Cap-Bon-Ami and Mont-Saint-Alban for incredible views.

Where to charge

A level 2 charger is available at Cap-des-Rosiers, at the park’s north entrance. More stations can be found in Gaspé, in Sandy Beach, York, and Rivière-au-Renard.

Bruce Peninsula National Park (Ontario)

The landscape

Known for its limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and the famous Grotto, this park is perfect for swimming, hiking, kayaking, or diving around shipwrecks.

Where to charge

No chargers are inside the park, but level 2 stations are available in Tobermory and along Highway 6. It’s best to charge up before heading into the northern peninsula.

Point Pelee National Park (Ontario)

The landscape

At Canada’s southernmost point, Point Pelee features marshes, forests, beaches, and boardwalks. It’s an international hotspot for birdwatching and monarch butterfly migrations.

Where to charge

There are no charging stations in the park, but several level 2 chargers are available in nearby Leamington.

Banff National Park (Alberta)

The landscape

Canada’s first national park is known for towering mountains, emerald lakes, deep valleys, and alpine forests. Highlights include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and the Cave and Basin Historic Site. Year-round, visitors enjoy hiking, scenic drives, and skiing.

Where to charge

Universal and fast chargers are available in Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise. 

Jasper National Park (Alberta)

The landscape

Located in the heart of the Rockies, Jasper is home to glaciers, turquoise rivers, hot springs, thick forests, and dramatic peaks. Top sights include the Icefields Parkway, Maligne Lake, and Athabasca Falls.

Where to charge

EV chargers can be found in Jasper, as well as Valemount, Hinton, and McBride.  

 

Yoho National Park (British Columbia)

Less crowded than Banff, Yoho features alpine beauty with Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, natural rock bridges, and tranquil forest trails.

Where to charge

Level 2 chargers are available in Field (inside the park) and Golden (just west of the park). 

 

Glacier National Park (British Columbia)

The landscape

Crossed by the Trans-Canada Highway, this park lives up to its name with active glaciers, steep peaks, deep valleys, and coniferous forests. It’s ideal for backcountry hiking and mountaineering.

Where to charge

No chargers are located inside the park, but you’ll find options in Revelstoke (west) and Golden (east).  

 

Fundy National Park (New Brunswick)

The landscape

Set along the Bay of Fundy, this park features dramatic cliffs, ancient forests, waterfalls, and the world’s highest tides. Don’t miss the coastal trails and rocky beaches.

Where to charge

Charging stations are available in Alma, Sussex, and Saint John, on main routes to the park.  

 

Cape Breton Highlands National Park (Nova Scotia)

The landscape

Located in northern Nova Scotia, this park features stunning coastal cliffs, mixed forests, wild beaches, and historic Acadian villages. The Cabot Trail is a must for jaw-dropping views.

Where to charge

You’ll find charging options in Ingonish, Baddeck, and Sydney, near park entrances. 

Gros Morne National Park (Newfoundland)

The landscape

This UNESCO World Heritage site features glacier-carved fjords, plateaus, ancient mountains, and unique geology. It’s a haven for rugged hikes and sweeping views.

Where to charge

Charging is available in Rocky Harbour, Norris Point, and Corner Brook.
