How do I end a charging session?

Charging sessions cannot be stopped remotely. You must be physically present at the charging station to end your session and unplug the charger.

Level 2 Charging Stations

Simply unplug the charger from your vehicle.

Important: Many newer electric vehicles have a safety lock that prevents the charger from releasing unless your car doors are unlocked. If the charger won't release, try unlocking your vehicle first.

Level 3 (DC Fast Charging) Stations

  1. Press the stop button on the charging station (either on the physical unit or the touchscreen)
  2. Wait for confirmation that charging has stopped
  3. Unplug the charger from your vehicle

Vehicle Safety Features

Some vehicles require additional steps before the charger will release:

  • Lock and unlock your doors using your key fob or app
  • Press the charger release button inside the car (often located near the charge port or on the dashboard)
  • Check your vehicle's settings for automatic charger locking preferences

If the charger still won't release, consult your vehicle's user manual for model-specific instructions.
