At the EV & Charging Expo, ChargeHub will hosts it’s very first edition of the ChargeHub Charging Experience Excellence Awards. Recognition awards built entirely on real charging data and authentic feedback from electric vehicle (EV) drivers

On April 9, 2026, in Toronto, our CEO and co-founder, Simon Ouellette, will award trophies to the top charging networks during an official ceremony that brings together the leading players in the EV ecosystem.

Origin of the Awards

In 2023, ChargeHub's data team undertook an in-depth analysis of its proprietary data to assess industry reliability and charging session success rates. With over 1 million annual users and data from more than 100,000 charging ports across North America, we had access to a rare resource: an accurate, ground-level view of the industry.

That analysis gave rise to the EV Charging Experience Barometer, a methodology that categorizes every charging session, from fully successful experiences to failed attempts. This analytical framework forms the foundation for selecting award recipients. To learn more about Q1 2025 performance, read our report here.

What We Recognize

The ChargeHub Awards celebrate two categories of excellence:

Top Networks highlights seven charging networks that demonstrated exceptional reliability and high driver satisfaction throughout the year, based on ChargeHub data.

The Charging Experience Excellence Award recognizes the network that stood out most in ratings and comments from real users. In 2024, BC Hydro received this honour. Learn more about how BC Hydro sets itself apart from other public charging networks.

Why It Matters for the Industry

The conversation around public charging often focuses on challenges: reliability, availability, and the overall user experience. Performance data circulates across the industry, but few mechanisms exist to formally recognize the networks that rise to the top.

The ChargeHub Awards fill that gap. Grounded in data from the EV Charging Experience Barometer, they provide a concrete benchmark for network operators, fleet managers, and OEMs of what a high-performing charging experience looks like across the North American market.

“Driver trust is earned one charger at a time, one session at a time. The networks that deliver on that deserve public recognition.”
Simon Ouellette, CEO and Co-founder, ChargeHub
