ChargeHub Wins Innovation & Technology Award at Accolades 2026

Every year, the West Island Chamber of Commerce's Accolades contest highlights businesses that stand out in their field, whether through growth, impact on the local business community, or, as in ChargeHub's case, contribution to technological innovation. The company had already been named a finalist in the same category earlier this year.

Asked about what this recognition means for the company, Francis De Broux, ChargeHub's COO, put it this way: "My partners and I are deeply grateful, and on behalf of the entire team, I can say this recognition means a great deal to us after more than ten years of work. It gives us the drive to keep going."

For a company born in Montreal's West Island, this contest represents far more than individual recognition; it's a chance to celebrate, alongside other entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the region, the work accomplished and the business relationships built over the years.

It all began in 2013, with three childhood friends, a passion for entrepreneurship, and snowmobiles. What started as an idea born of curiosity and resourcefulness has grown, over the years, into a technology company that now plays a structural role in North America's EV mobility industry.

The path was anything but linear. Like many tech companies, ChargeHub had to build its business model as the market itself was still taking shape: the EV charging industry was in its infancy in 2013, well before transportation electrification became a strategic priority for governments and businesses alike. Persevering and innovating in that environment, year after year, took vision.

More than a decade later, that perseverance is paying off. Passport Hub, ChargeHub's EV charging roaming platform, now connects more than 750 charging networks across North America, positioning the company as an essential technology partner for charge point operators (CPOs), fleet managers, and industry players looking to simplify charging access for their users. That number reflects more than the company's growth; it reflects how far the EV mobility industry has matured since ChargeHub helped shape it from the very beginning.

The Chamber of Commerce visited our offices, accompanied by Monsef Derraji, MNA for Nelligan, to highlight and encourage a company deeply rooted in his riding. Francis welcomed them, giving a tour of the office and, more importantly, revisiting the early days of the adventure, a reminder that, despite its growth, ChargeHub remains deeply attached to its West Island roots.

A story of friendship, vision, and boldness, one that reminds us the biggest adventures can start with the simplest ideas, and that perseverance, given enough time, pays off.
