Here’s a 5-day itinerary specially designed for electric vehicle drivers. Discover breathtaking scenery, convenient stops, and everything you need to easily find charging stations across Prince Edward Island.
Day 1: Arrival in Charlottetown & Urban Exploration
Start your trip in Charlottetown, the birthplace of Confederation. Upon arrival, use the interactive map to locate downtown Level 2 (240V) chargers and charge easily. Explore historic sites, farmers' markets, and savour fresh seafood at local restaurants.
Pro tip: While charging, wander the streets, visit Province House, or head to the waterfront.
Day 2: Lighthouses & red-sand beaches on the north shore
Head north toward Cavendish via provincial roads. This area is known for its red-sand beaches and iconic lighthouses. North Rustico is a peaceful seaside village with EV chargers and perfect for a relaxing stop. Cape Tryon, although more remote, rewards you with dramatic cliff views and photo ops.
Both North Rustico and Cavendish offer charging stations, making them ideal bases before exploring the more secluded East Coast views.

Day 3: Dive into acadian culture
Drive west toward the heart of Acadian culture. Abram-Village is home to the Acadian Musical Village—where live performances, traditional music, and artisan crafts bring local history to life. Drop into community museums, chat with proud locals, or browse workshops. For an authentic Acadian meal, try a bowl of fricot, râpure, or fresh seafood in a cozy eatery. Wellington is well-served with Level 2 charging stations—perfect for a scenic and cultural pause.
Day 4: Eastern tip road trip & coastal drives
Set your sights on East Point Lighthouse, one of the island’s most beautiful lighthouses. The drive follows cliffs, dunes, and scenic landscapes. Charging tip: Stop in Souris or Montague for a 7 kW charge. While you wait, stroll along the coastal trails or explore local shops and cafés.

Day 5: Southern return & foodie finale
Wrap up your adventure in Summerside, a charming coastal city full of great eats and local flavour.
Start your morning at Samuel’s Coffee House with a local breakfast, then explore Spinnaker’s Landing, a lively waterfront boardwalk lined with artisan boutiques and ocean views.
For dinner, choose from The Deckhouse Pub for casual seafood, or Five Eleven West for something more upscale. Cap it off with a homemade scoop from Holman’s Ice Cream Parlour, located in a historic home.
You’ll find plenty of chargers in Summerside, especially near tourist attractions and hotels, ideal for your final top-up before heading back to the mainland.
Bonus: Extend your journey to the Magdalen Islands
Got a few extra days? Take the ferry Souris to the Magdalen Islands, where EVs are welcome aboard. The islands offer a solid public charging network too, so you can continue your electric journey while discovering some of the most unique coastal landscapes in Eastern Canada.
Some stations offer only one type, which may not work for your car. Before you hit the road, check our Connector Compatibility Guide to ensure you're fully equipped.
