Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro EV Charging Network

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro EV Charging Network

In 2021, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro completed the province’s inaugural fast-charging network for electric vehicles (EVs). The network consists of 33 fast-charging stations spanning from St. John’s to Labrador City. EV drivers can confidently travel, knowing they have convenient access to fast chargers along the Trans-Canada Highway and throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. These charging stations utilize ChargePoint technology, allowing efficient recharging.

Funding for the network came from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, and the Government of Canada through Natural Resources Canada’s Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative. Remember to plan your route and anticipate stops, by using the ChargeHub ev charging map, even with fast chargers available approximately every 70 kilometers on the Trans-Canada Highway.
