NL Hydro EV Charging Network

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro EV Charging Network

In 2021, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro launched the province’s first fast-charging network for electric vehicles (EVs). The NL Hydro EV charging network includes 33 strategically placed charging stations that stretch from St. John’s to Labrador City. These stations are designed to provide EV drivers with reliable and convenient access to charging along the Trans-Canada Highway and throughout the province.

The EV chargers use ChargePoint technology, ensuring efficient recharging for all compatible vehicles. Funding for this project came from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, and the Government of Canada through Natural Resources Canada’s Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative.

Even with fast chargers available approximately every 70 kilometers on the Trans-Canada Highway, planning your route with the ChargeHub map is recommended to optimize your travel experience.
