The Ivy EV charging network is Ontario's largest fast-charger network for electric vehicles (EVs), developed in partnership between Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation. Ivy simplifies on-the-go charging by providing a reliable and seamless experience across Ontario, from north to south and east to west. The network currently boasts 28 locations equipped with Level 3 fast-chargers, offering up to 100 km of range in just 20 minutes. Ivy plans to  expand to more than 60 locations by the end of 2022, further enhancing the Ivy EV charging network. Additionally, Ivy offers a home charging solution called Ivy Home, featuring a Level 2 smart charger, professional installation, and access to their fast-charging network.


Where to Find Ivy Charging Stations

The Ivy EV charging network focuses primarily on Ontario, Canada. To find Ivy charging stations, use one of the following methods:

  1. Ivy Charging Network Website
  • Access the Ivy website to find a map and search for stations based on your location or intended destination.
  • Website: https://ivycharge.com/
  1. Charging Station Apps

Apps like ChargeHub, PlugShare or ChargePoint, include Ivy stations in their databases. These apps provide additional details like charger availability, pricing, and user reviews. You can also pay for your charging sessions directly through the ChargeHub application.

Many Ivy charging stations are located at ONroute stops along major highways in Ontario. You can find these locations and their charging facilities on the ONroute website:

Important Note: While Ivy is primarily focused on Ontario, there may be overlaps or partnerships with other networks. To find the most comprehensive list of charging stations, consider using multiple resources. 


How to Use Ivy Charging Stations

To start a charging session with Ivy EV charging network, follow these steps:

  1. Mobile App Method
  • Download the Ivy app and become a member.
  • Scan the QR code on the charger using your phone.
  • Tap “Start” in the app to initiate the charging session.
  1. RFID Card Method
  • Tap your RFID card on the charging station’s reader.
  1. Credit Card Payment (via QR Code)
  • Scan the QR code on the charger with your phone.
  • Follow the onscreen prompts to enter your payment details. 
  • Tap “Start” on the charger page to begin charging.

After completing your charging session, you’ll receive an email receipt, and you can track your charging history via the Ivy app.

 

Cost to Charge at an Ivy Charging Station

The Ivy EV charging network offers transparent pricing with no membership fees or subscription costs. Simply download the Ivy app, create an account, and access their fast-charging network.

  • Fast Charging (Level 3): $0.62 per kilowatt-hour (tax included). For example, if you consume 20 kWh, the cost would be $12.40.
  • Level 2 Charging: Up to $2.50 per hour. Ivy’s chargers support both CHAdeMO and CCS connectors.

Ivy Home Charging Solution

In addition to public chargers, Ivy offers the Ivy Home EV charger, priced at $649 CAD. This solution includes a smart Level 2 charger and professional installation, allowing seamless integration with the public Ivy EV charging network.
