Poor Experience with Electrify America at Sam's Club Portage
I used the Electrify America charger at the Portage Sam's Club on July 19, 2025, and had a very disappointing experience. The charger clearly stated it would notify me when charging reached 80%—but I never received any alert. Because of this, I remained connected longer than necessary and was ultimately charged $55, far more than expected.
I had noticed others struggling with the only CHAdeMO charger before I used it, so I assumed it was just a slow charger—not that the app failed to notify me as it should have.
To make matters worse, when I contacted Electrify America customer support, I was brushed off. Despite telling them I had a photo with EXIF data taken just before I entered my number, they implied I could have deleted any text messages and offered no assistance. I wasn’t even asking for a full refund—just a partial adjustment based on the charger’s failure to notify me—but they refused.
Electrify America had no problem sending me a receipt, but they failed to deliver the promised notification, and their customer service was dismissive. These charging stations are unreliable, and based on my experience, support is unhelpful if something goes wrong.
I have the photo I took at the station before entering my number. I also have EXIF data and the receipt to prove my timeline and charges.
Would not recommend if you plan to shop or eat as the charger doesn't notify end users upon completion

Seemed like a nice stop and convenient retail. However only one of the supercharge ports were there and someone was parked using a the other port but that meant I couldn’t use the only one that would fit my car. ??

350kW charger did not give nearly that much power. Chargers worked fine, no issues.

3 of six stations down today, and the 350 kW unit output at a decreased rate. This site is due for some maintenance.

A 350 kW and two of the 150 kWs we're down tonight.

Got 155 kW max on the 150 kW DCFC, which is awesome. A Kona was using the 350 kW when the 150s we're all open. Not the end of the world, but reminder that you may be taking up a slot for an EV that can use higher kW and free up space more quickly.
