It is a lot more expensive to charge an EV at these charging stations than at home. Homeowners are currently charged about 15 cents a kWh, whereas it is 24 cents a kWH at the charging station. In addition, off peak home rates are even lower than 15 cents a kWh. Using these stations only makes sense if you are a long way from home and can't get back there before your batteries are drained.
