I didn't try to initiate charging through the app, I wish I'd tried that. I downloaded the Shell app, made the account, found the charger, plugged in, clicked charge, and it wouldn't start charging. My car sensed it was plugged in but wouldn't charge. I called the number and he said it all looked good on his end and didn't know why it wasn't charging. he could see no electricity flowing. I left and went to a charge point across the freeway Trade Center Station 1 and it cost money but worked but parking said private.

They are not free and they require the download of the shell app. The shell app was unreliable for me at the time
