As of this post to the best of my knowledge this is the only public charging station available in Galt. So I'm rather pleased that it has a CCS hook up for my Chevy Bolt. A single session is limited to 30 minutes, at which point the station will stop charging your car. A meter is displayed on the station showing your battery charge at the start of, during, and at the end of session. Today I started my session with 14% battery life remaining (around 30 miles) and ended with 50%. My only complaint about this station is the company who put it in place and runs it. EVGO requires you to either sign up with a monthly plan (monthly fee and 1 year contract w/ early termination fee) through them, or a pay as you go plan with a set rate(still with a 1year contract). You can do neither of these and still use the station, but you will have to call a 1-800 number everytime and give them your credit card number everytime to start each session. Signing up for a plan gets you a RFID card that essentially link your credit card to it, and hold in front of a scanner, charges you, then starts the session. So you are essentially paying for a convenience/time saving fee. When I charged the 2nd or 3rd time I was told I should get an account because "the system doesn't always allow the Agents send a charge". Sounds shady, but since its the only station in town I'll make due when I need to use it.
