Shandon Rest Area EV Charging Stations

As of July 4, 2025 the charger doesn't work. There is no power to the screen. There is a "JuiceBox" Charger under the solar panels next to the Charge point charger. I'm assuming it's a level 2 charger, but I didn't try it.

I have stopped here many times and only once did I actually successfully charge. if I remember right there are four Fast DC chargers but usually not even one works. Caltrans spent millions of our tax $$ puting these in at various rest stops, but no one seems to maintain them. Why not start charging users, then use those funds for maintenance? I know that takes an act of the legislature, so just get it done!

The charger is working right now, it is a bit glitchy so you will need to plug in, then use your phone to activate the charger using the apple wallet on the charger card reader.

Available & working. I had no issues at all, I was able to charge for free. Area is clean & safe. It's a rest area, so plenty of restrooms & vending available. Thank you for a very positive experience!!!

The station is defective.

I had a negative experience. It's closed. Almost out of battery and getting here and seeing our closed sucks
