Quebec Government Rebate for Home Charging Stations

In Quebec, when you buy a level 2 charging station for your home, you can receive a government rebate of up to $600. For this incentive, you can submit one charging station rebate claim per eligible electric vehicle. This incentive is available as of January 1st, 2016.

This incentive is divided in 2 parts:
  • $350 rebate for the purchase of the charging station
  • $250 rebate for the installation of the charging station (if applicable)

To be entitled to this rebate, your charging station must:
  • Be purchased between November 1st, 2013 and December 31, 2020
  • Be purchased new
  • Be powered by a 240 Volts supply
  • Be approved by a recognized authority, as required under the Building Act
  • Be installed and connected by a master electrician (unless a 240V outlet is already available)

All of the charging stations for sale in ChargeHub’s online store meet these criteria.

To submit a rebate claim you must keep the following important documents:
  • Your electric vehicle’s serial number
  • Receipt of your new level 2 charging station
  • Invoice issued by a certified electrician for the installation and connection of your charging station (if applicable)
  • If you buy a used EV:
    • A copy of the sales contract or of the rental contract
    • A copy of proof of service from the SAAQ or the certificate of registration

Once the installation of your charging station has been completed, you can file an application for the rebate by filling out the online form available on the Government of Quebec website.
