General EV Charging Information

The city of Kelowna in British Columbia, Canada, has 104 public charging station ports (Level 2 and Level 3) within 15km. 69% of the ports are level 2 charging ports and 30% of the ports offer free charges for your electric car.

The City of Kelowna is working to promote the electrification of ground transportations by installing public charging stations (level 2 and 3) within a radius of 10 miles. What’s more, we see free charging stations on its territory. Indeed, the City of Kelowna is part of a province that supports the electrification of ground transportations.

In order to encourage its residents to adopt an electric vehicle (EV) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the province of British-Columbia is providing financing from the Clean Energy Vehicle (CEV) Program for the expansion and upgrading of residential charging stations and the charging infrastructure.

From now on, the electric vehicles in the province can also driver in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes. Since March 2016, more than 1 000 residents have taken advantage of this special allowance.
