Shared station guide
ChargeHub users have the possibility of letting others use their home charging stations. This can be useful for users who want to travel in locations where public charging is inadequate.
In order to let other users know about your home stations, you need to add it to your profile in ChargeHub.
- Note that you can currently only add your home station on the mobile apps
Once you add your home stations to your profile, it will be displayed on the map and other users will be able to contact you to coordinate charging.
Here are the steps involved
- Create a ChargeHub profile (completely free)
- Add your home stations to your profile
- Users will now see your station on the map
- Users will contact you within the ChargeHub app messaging system to coordinate charging

Creating a ChargeHub profile is free and it takes under 30 seconds!
Add your home stations to your profile
Once you created your profile, you can select “Share Home Station” in the profile screen. This will take you to another screen where you will configure the details of your station.
- Configuring the exact location of the station
- Configure which type of connection and power is available. The default is J1772 EV Plug.
- Enter any additional you would like users to know.
Users will now see your station on the map
Once you save the station, users will see it on the map. You can edit the information at any time and remove the station at any time. You have complete control.
Users will contact you within the ChargeHub app messaging system to coordinate charging
Users will need to use the “Contact Owner” button to start a text conversation with you in order to coordinate charging.
What if I want to charge the user to use my station?
ChargeHub partners with another application called Rover to enable you to charge users to use your charging station. Rover is like AirBnB for your parking spot. Once you add your station to ChargeHub, you can link this station with a parking spot on Rover.
Rover will help you setup exact days and times your station is available for rent. Rover will also securely handle all transactions for you. Users will be able to reserve the parking spot from ChargeHub and the Rover app.
Here are the general steps to follow to rent your charging station
1. Tap on Share on Rover
This will take you to another screen where you can configure your charging station detailed information. However, once you click “save”, you will be redirected to Rover. If you don’t have Rover installed, you will be taken to the app store to download it.
Once in Rover, you’ll need to create an account and add your parking spot. Once the parking spot is added, it will be linked to the your charging station on ChargeHub.
2. The reservation process for other drivers
Other ChargeHub users will be able to reserve from ChargeHub or from Rover. On the ChargeHub map, you’ll notice that “Rover” stations have the Rover icon. A new “Reserve” button is shown.
Users who want to reserve will be taken to the Rover app and they’ll be able to complete the reservation there.
