Having a huge surfer community rebelling on the waves of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance Beach, it’s a given that the International Surf Festival takes place in Los Angeles. In 2016, Los Angeles has been listed amongst the Top 10 EV-Friendly cities. In the same year, the city replaced a distance of 7,242 kilometers lampposts with LED lights instead. With this in effect, power centrals can use the energy savings to power up to 100 new charging stations. Following this progressive change, 30 of these charging stations using the surplus energy have been installed in 2016.

Their mayor, Eric Garcetti, is an EV enthusiast and pledged in 2015 to install 1000 new charging stations by 2017.
